Documenting Evidence..

hye everyone!
Today i would like to share about my next learning topic in ELC next week which is documenting evidence .
Document generally means that materials that provide official materials or evidence that sources as a record. Specifically, according to Writing With Sources books define that documentation refers to the system you use to give credit to your sources, acknowledging that you are using the words, ideas, views or findings of another person.
Reasons for documenting sources :
  • to strength your work
  • show respect for intellectual property
  • to avoid plagiarism by giving them appropriate credit
  • enables the readers to locate the sources of information and pursue futer reading or investigation on the topic by citation.

how to paraphrase correctly??

Hello :)
First of all..do you know what is paraphrasing? yes yes yes.. paraphrasing means that taking another person's idea and restating using your own words. The words paraphrase actually come from the word par (equal) /a / phrase /, which means a sentences equal to the original but written in other version.( format and words). Student like me usually have a lots of challenge to paraphrase correctly..hehe.

there are 3 condition for a good paraphrase:

  1. Your paraphrase must have same meaning as original.
  2. You should use your own words.
  3. You should cite the original source.
  • REMEMBER THAT :
~ please include all important points / ideas.
~ don't add any new ideas (own ideas)
                                            ~don't alter the original meaning.
~change the vocabulary and sentences as much as you can.

It is TRUE?

Hello guys :)
I would like to share about my learning on ELC classes last Wednesday. It is about the tips on how to check the truth website.. First of all,. we should check the url of the website that show the source of the information. I mean that we can look at the domain name of the website such as;

  •  .gov ( the name derived from government that used by government entities in United States)
  •  .edu (show the educational institution in IP adress )
  • .org  ( derived from organization )
  • .com ( derived from the word commercial )
Secondly, the author are very related to evaluation. This is because we should know whether the author was qualified to write about the subject to avoid from getting the wrong information. Beside that, don't forget to check the date to ensure that the information is updated. Lastly, the most important part is check the sources of the website..
I hope all of this tips can help us in evaluating the website to improve our website searching skills based on the right sources.

Hello guys..
Today I would like to share with you about the hottest topic among the university students. Its all about 'PLAGIARISM'.
First of all , many of us think that plagiarism as copying the other's work without permission.
there are actually a lots examples of plagiarism such as turning someone else as your own work, copying the other's work without giving them any credit, giving the incorrect information about the sources of quotation, and others. Most of us actually involve in this plagiarism act since we're in primary. I still remember that, during my primary school, I always copy the images from the website. But i never know that it was a wrong action by copying the other's work without giving them any credits. I finally know about plagiarism since I am in university level. It was not too late for me to have the correct ways to prevent plagiarism especially to complete my assignment.
There are a few steps to preventing plagiarism that we can apply.Firstly, make your own outlines to generate your ideas before writing. Then , if you want to include the someone else work into your work, don't forget to cite the sources properly.
Remember that PLAGIARISM is a wrong action. Try to avoid it :)
